Curtis and Associates Leads Company Visit to Goldteak Plantation in Cibening as Part of Carbon Emissions Reduction Program

As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, Curtis and Associates facilitated a company visit to the Goldteak plantation in Cibening, West Java, Indonesia. The visit is a key activity within the group’s broader program aimed at reducing carbon emissions through nature-based solutions.

The delegation was led by Jon Curtis, Founder of Curtis and Associates, and included Adi Iswanto, Director of Petrolink Indonesia. Joining them were Bertrand Rioux and Jignesh Janardhanan, along with other members of the Net Zero Matrix team, who are actively involved in implementing decarbonization and ESG strategies across the group.

Upon arrival at the site, the team was welcomed by Pak Zaini, Goldteak’s Site Manager, and Bu Dewi, the Office Manager. They provided an in-depth tour of the plantation, explaining the operational practices and sustainability measures that have guided Goldteak since its establishment in 2005.

One of the key highlights of the visit was learning about Goldteak’s tree tagging system, which allows each teak tree to be individually identified and tracked throughout its lifecycle. This method not only supports transparency and data collection for carbon sequestration accounting but also enhances long-term forest management and reporting accuracy.

“This visit is not only symbolic but also strategic,” said Jon Curtis during the tour. “Goldteak represents the kind of sustainable project that enables our group of companies to move from intention to action in tackling climate change.”

The team discussed how technology, monitoring systems, and responsible reforestation could be integrated to create measurable environmental impact. Bertrand Rioux, Jignesh Janardhanan, and the Net Zero Matrix team contributed insights on advanced carbon accounting, data-driven sustainability solutions, and partnership models for scaling environmental outcomes.

The visit reaffirms the ongoing commitment of the Curtis and Associates group of companies to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, emphasizing long-term investments in sustainable practices, transparent carbon offsetting, and meaningful community engagement.
