Open Footprint

The Open Group Open Footprint™ (OFP) Forum is a global, vendor-neutral community of industry leaders and stakeholders focused on developing and promoting open standards and best practices for measuring, reporting, and reducing carbon and other environmental footprints. The OFP Forum operates under the umbrella of The Open Group, a global consortium that enables the achievement of business objectives through technology standards.

The OFP data standards and platform add a technical specification to reporting/disclosure standards and frameworks like the ISO 14000 range and the GHG protocol. These specifications provide data structures that allow for standardized data storage, processing and exchange. A single set of technical specifications also allows for harmonizing data and combining multiple standards/disclosure frameworks into a single technical specification. With that, aggregations and calculations required for different disclosure required can be generated from the same data structures.

Net Zero Matrix are members of the OFP and are actively involved with the development of the platform. The Net Zero Matrix is being linked to an On-Premise implementation of an OFP which will enable the ingestion of GHG emission reports in any format and the availability of that data to other OFP instances as well as through XBRL.

The Net Zero Matrix Carbon Register is capable of the Ingestion of GHG Information in a wide variety of different static file formats, including XLS / CSV / Parquet, DOC, XML and XBRL files. It can also import streaming real time formats such as OPC / WITS / WITSML.

Data in the Net Zero Matrix GHG Register is made available through an integrated OFP Instance to other OFP third-party instances using Open Source APIs that have been developed by the Community.
